The Waidmannslust nature reserve is a 178 hectare nature reserve in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, two kilometers southeast of Altentreptow . The federal road 96 in the direction of Neddemin runs through the area. It comprises a low moor complex on the western tributary of the Kleiner Landgraben in the area where it flows into the Tollense .

He was expelled on November 13, 1996.

The state of the area is assessed as satisfactory, as the water balance of the moored sinks is disturbed by drainage.

history

The Landgrabental was created as a late Ice Age drainage channel. In the areas of today's protected area, a flow moor up to three meters thick formed . In the past, peat was removed from the land and used as meadow and pasture. Intensive interventions were carried out between 1947 and 1952 by removing peat and from 1976 to 1980 by plowing up grassland in some areas.

Flora and fauna

Notable plant species are pine fronds , cabbage thistle , greater pond rose , arrowhead , branchy hedgehog , crayfish claws and candelabrum algae . 87 bird species have been recorded in the area, including the great bittern , the curlew , snipe , little grebe , black tern and bluethroat . The red-bellied toad , moor frog , common toad , grass snake , raccoon dog , otter and beaver also live in the areas .
