Forest

The Comthureyer Berg nature reserve is a ten hectare nature reserve north of Comthurey in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

A spontaneously grown forest on sandy areas with species-rich ground vegetation and a section of the Godendorfer Mühlenbach stream to the north are protected. The legal determination took place on March 2, 1972. The nature reserve is located in the Feldberger Seenlandschaft nature park . The current state of the area is only classified as satisfactory, as the original pioneer vegetation of pine and birch has been displaced. Strongly protected species such as flat bear moss , moss-eye , spotted orchid and fox's orchid still occur. Pied flycatchers , woodcock , kingfisher and black and great spotted woodpecker live in the area. Particularly noteworthy fish species of the Godendorfer Mühlenbach are burbot and loach .

The nature reserve is part of the FFH area Sander area south of Serrahn and of the bird sanctuary forest and lake landscape Lieps-Serrahn .

A public forest road runs through the area.
