The Conower Werder nature reserve is a 54 hectare nature reserve in the south-eastern part of the Carwitzer See in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

The peninsula with strong relief is overgrown with beeches. There are moist hollows with sedges and alders scattered there . Due to the impassable terrain, the forest was probably never used intensively (old forest area). The eponymous place Conow is to the north. The legal determination took place on December 9, 1961. The nature reserve is located in the Feldberger Seenlandschaft nature park and is classified as an FFH area and a bird sanctuary under EU law .

The current state of the area is considered to be very good, although natural regeneration is apparently impaired by excessive game populations . The old tree population has been free of use since the 1980s and is being scientifically researched as a natural forest reserve . It has a high biodiversity. Strongly protected species such as forest birds , broad-leaved sitters and numerous deadwood- inhabiting mushroom species occur. Here live kingfishers , red-breasted flycatcher , black woodpeckers and doves .

There are no public roads in the area.
