Leutschach an der Weinstrasse has been a municipality with 3664 inhabitants since 2015 (as of January 1, 2020) in the Leibnitz district in Styria .

Leutschach an der Weinstrasse emerged as part of the municipal structural reform in Styria from the municipalities of Leutschach , Schloßberg , Eichberg-Trautenburg and Glanz an der Weinstrasse, which were dissolved at the end of 2014 . In 2015 the municipality's administration moved into the renovated office building.

With a total of 732 hectares of vineyards, the place is the largest wine-growing community in Styria (corresponds to a good 17% of the wine-growing area in Styria ). Due to the hop cultivation on approx. 95 hectares around Leutschach (= largest hop-growing area in Austria), Leutschach on the Weinstrasse is also the only hop and wine-growing community in Austria.

Together with Ehrenhausen an der Weinstrasse, Arnfels, Oberhaag and Straß in Styria, the community forms the tourism association “The South Styrian Wine Route”.

In terms of traffic, the individual cadastral communities and localities are largely well developed today by private transport (271.7 km of local roads). Public bus lines connect Leutschach with the neighboring communities and the district capital Leibnitz . The next train stations are in Ehrenhausen and Leibnitz.
