Pavel Alexandrovich Rostovtsev
Pawel Alexandrowitsch Rostovzew ( Russian Павел Александрович Ростовцев , scientific transliteration Pavel Aleksandrovič Rostovcev ; born September 21, 1971 in Gus-Khrustalny , Vladimir Oblast ) is a former Russian biathlete .
In 2000 he won the World Championships in Lahti with the Russian relay. In 2001 he became world champion in the sprint over 10 kilometers and in the pursuit over 12.5 kilometers. In the overall World Cup ranking of the 2001/2002 season, Rostovzew took 2nd place. At the Olympic Games in Turin, he won silver with the Russian relay. In November 2006, Rostovtsev announced that he would end his career and work as the head of a sports committee in Krasnoyarsk.
He lives in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia. He was married to the overall European Cup winner 1997/1998 in the biathlon Julija Dykanjuk and has two sons. Julija Rostovtseva died on November 1, 2007 at the age of 35.
