The Pays de Montbéliard Agglomération is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté d'agglomération in the department of Doubs in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It was founded on September 17, 2016 and comprises 72 parishes. The administrative headquarters are in the city of Montbéliard .

Historical development

The community association was created with effect from January 1, 2017 through the merger of the predecessor organizations

Despite the similarity of the name, it is a new establishment with a different legal personality. At the same time, another nine municipalities from the dissolved Communauté de communes de la Vallée du Rupt joined the new association.
