Allondans is a French municipality with 253 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Doubs in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté .
geography
Allondans is located at 330 m , about four kilometers west of the city of Montbéliard (beeline). The village extends west of the basin of Montbéliard and north of the Doubstal , in the Rupt valley, northeast of the Bois de Sainans.
The area of the 5.14 km² municipal area covers a section of the undulating landscape north of the Doube valley. The central part of the area is taken up by the Rupt valley low , which receives the inflow of a right side stream near the village and provides drainage to the south to the Allan and thus to the Doubs. The valley is flanked by predominantly wooded heights: in the west by the Bois de Sainans (up to 410 m), in the east by the Bois Georges ( 405 m ). To the north the municipal area extends to the plateau of Grand Bois and Bois de Montevillars , on which the highest point of Allondans is reached at 435 m.
Neighboring communities of Allondans are Montbéliard in the north and east, Sainte-Suzanne and Dung in the south and Issans in the west.
history
Allondans belonged to the domain of the Counts of Montbéliard since the Middle Ages. With the annexation of the county of Württemberg-Mömpelgard (Montbéliard) , the village finally came into French hands in 1793. Today Allondans is part of the Pays de Montbéliard Agglomération municipal association .
Attractions
The current building of the Lutheran Church of Allondans ( Église luthérienne ) was built in 1848. The Mairie (parish hall) dates from 1822.

With 253 inhabitants (January 1, 2017), Allondans is one of the small communities in the Doubs department. After the population in the first half of the 20th century had always been in the range between 130 and 160 people, a population growth has been recorded since the beginning of the 1960s.
Economy and Infrastructure
Allondans was a village dominated by agriculture (arable farming, fruit growing and cattle breeding) well into the 20th century. In addition, there are now some local small businesses. In the meantime, the village has also turned into a residential community. Many workers are therefore commuters who do their work in the Montbéliard agglomeration.
The village is located away from the major thoroughfares on a department road that leads from Montbéliard to Aibre . The closest connection to the A36 motorway is around seven kilometers away. Another road connection is with manure .
