Mairie Dasle

Dasle is a French commune with 1,417 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Doubs in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté .

geography

Dasle is located at 380  m above sea level, about eight kilometers east-southeast of the city of Montbéliard (as the crow flies). The municipality, a former street village, extends southeast of the basin of Montbéliard, in a wide hollow that opens to the west to the Doubstal , in the northern foothills of the Jura .

The area of the 5.67 km² large municipality covers a section of the northern French Jura. The central part of the area is occupied by the nearly one kilometer wide basin of Dasle, which is drained by the Ruisseau de Dasle to the west to the Doubs. This hollow is flanked by the plateaus, which are part of the foothills of the Table Jura . These are partly with arable land and meadow, partly with forest. To the north, the municipal area extends into the vast forest areas of the Bois des Vernes (up to 410 m) and Bois de Meilloncourt ( 420  m ). Towards the east, the terrain gradually rises to the Beaucourt plateau. At 475 m, the highest point in Dasle is reached in the Les Échenets forest on the slope of the Grammont.

The settlement of Les Monts-de-Dasle ( 450  m ) belongs to Dasle, in a position with great views on the west-sloping slope of the Beaucourt plateau. The neighboring communities of Dasle are Étupes and Dampierre-les-Bois in the north, Beaucourt and Montbouton in the east, Vandoncourt and Seloncourt in the south and Audincourt in the west.

history

Since the Middle Ages, Dasle has belonged to the domain of the Counts of Montbéliard. A small part was owned by the Blamont estate and shared their fate. The Reformation was introduced in 1541 . Under the invasion of the Guisen (1587/88) and during the Thirty Years' War (especially in the period from 1633 to 1642) Dasle suffered badly. With the annexation of the county of Württemberg-Mömpelgard (Montbéliard) | the village finally came into French hands in 1793. Iron ore used to be mined in the vicinity of the village and processed in the Audincourt ironworks.

With the opening of the Montbéliard – Morvillars railway on June 29, 1868, Dasle was connected to the French railway network; Dasle-Beaucourt station also served the neighboring community, to which a tram ran between 1904 and 1938. Passenger traffic on the railway line was stopped in 1938, the last freight train in the direction of Morvillars ran in 1969; the disused section was completely removed. Freight traffic from Audincourt was discontinued in 1990, the remaining route was dismantled in places and is no longer passable.

Today Dasle is part of the Pays de Montbéliard Agglomération municipal association .

Attractions

Dasle's Lutheran village church was built at the end of the 19th century. Only a few remains of the former La Motte castle are visible.

Today the settlement area of Dasle has grown together almost completely with that of Beaucourt.

Economy and Infrastructure

During the 19th century Dasle developed into an industrial community. Many of the workers at the Japy factory in Beaucourt lived in Dasle. Today, various small and medium-sized businesses, particularly those in the automotive accessories manufacturing, mechanical, sheet metal and electrical installation industries, are based in the municipality. There are also numerous retail shops for daily needs. Many workers are also commuters who work in the other municipalities of the Montbéliard agglomeration.

The village is well developed in terms of traffic. It is located on a departmental road that leads from Audincourt to Beaucourt. The closest connection to the A36 motorway is around eight kilometers away. Further road connections exist with Étupes, Dampierre-les-Bois, Montbouton, Vandoncourt and Seloncourt. Dasle is connected to the city of Montbéliard by a bus line.
