The Queen's University Belfast ( Irish Ollscoil na Banríona, Béal Feirste ) was founded as Queen's College, Belfast . Its roots go back to 1810. The university has a technical profile and has an extensive technology transfer service. Teachers are also trained at St. Mary's College .
Today the university has around 1,600 faculty and 25,000 students .

The university was one of the few universities that had its own seat in the House of Commons until 1950 . In addition, she was represented with four seats in the Northern Irish Parliament until 1968.
