Reelsiefen

Reelsiefen is a hamlet in Lohmar in the Rhein-Sieg district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

geography

Reelsiefen is in the middle-west of Lohmar. Surrounding villages and hamlets are Hammerschbüchel in the north, Höngesberg in the northeast, Röttgen in the west, Kreuznaaf , Naaferberg and Ungertz in the southeast, Donrath and Besenbroich in the south, Wielpütz and Scherferhof in the west and Scheiderhöhe in the northwest.

Residents

In 1885 Reelsiefen had three houses and 15 residents.

The Agger flows east of Reelsiefen .

In the west, north-west and south-west of Reelsiefen there is a contiguous forest area. To the north, east and south, Reelsiefen is surrounded by large meadows, some of which are used for agriculture, but some are also left in their natural state. To the south of Reelsiefen, to the west of Besenbroich, oxbow lakes of the Agger can still be seen. On the meadows towards the Agger you can still see the silted up old course of the Agger, despite decades of cultivation of the meadows and fields. In the northeast of Reelsiefen there is a campsite right on the Agger.

The next bus stop for Reelsiefen is in Kreuznaaf. The shared call taxi (AST) connects Reelsiefen to local public transport . Reelsiefen is west of the B 484 . A cycle path that is part of the cycle path network along the Agger runs past Reelsiefen.

Bridges over the Agger

  • single-lane bridge between Höngesberg and Kreuznaaf (also suitable for motor vehicles)
  • small wooden bridge from Donrath via Büchel to Reelsiefen (only suitable for pedestrians and cyclists)
