Mackenbach (Lohmar)

Mackenbach is a hamlet that belongs to the town of Lohmar in the Rhein-Sieg district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

geography

Mackenbach is located in the middle of northern Lohmar. Surrounding villages are Kirchbach and Grube Pilot in the north, Weeg and Dorpmühle in the east, Hausdorp and Höfferhof in the southeast, Jüchen , Hausen and Stolzenbach in the south, Schöpcherhof and Hitzhof in the west and Brückerhof in the northwest.

The Mackenbach rises in Mackenbach, an orographically left tributary of the Agger . The Atzenbach flows south of Mackenbach, a left tributary of the Agger. The Agger itself flows relatively close to the west of Mackenbach.

Mackenbach is located in an agricultural area. Except for the northeast side, Mackenbach is surrounded by forest. There are agricultural meadows along the way to Weeg.

history

In 1885 Mackenbach had 67 inhabitants who lived in 14 houses.

Until 1969, Mackenbach belonged to the previously independent municipality of Wahlscheid .
