Breidt is a district of Lohmar in the Rhein-Sieg district in North Rhine-Westphalia . Until 1969 Breidt was an independent municipality.

Breidt is located in the southeast of the urban area of ​​Lohmar. Surrounding hamlets and localities are Wahlen and Effert (both belonging to Neunkirchen-Seelscheid ) in the north to the northeast, Deesem and Krahwinkel in the east, Winkel , Breidtersteegsmühle and Geber in the south, Gebermühle and Salgert in the southwest and Ellhausen and Grimberg in the west to northwest.

A nameless, orographically left tributary of the Naafbach rises northwest of Breidt .

The community Breidt was a rural community in the mayor's office Lohmar .

The municipality had seven residential places with 132 residential buildings (including uninhabited) and 124 households.

The districts belonging to Breidt were in 1885 Breidtersteegsmühle , Deesem , Geber , Krahwinkel , Weegermühle and Winkel .

Architectural monuments

The Catholic Church “St. Joseph ”in Breidt was built in 1970 according to plans by the Cologne architect M. M. Rubcic. The altar was created by the Cologne sculptor Wolfgang Reuter . The two bells, weighing 17 and 29 kilograms, are consecrated to the names "Maria, Queen of Peace" and "Joseph, patron saint of workers". The church in Breidt is a branch of the Birker “Parish Church of St. Mary's Birth” and is a listed building.
