Münchhof is located in the middle of the north of Lohmar. history

In 1166, Countess Hildegund von Meer donated a Fronhof with the church in Wahlscheid ( Walescheith ) to the nunnery she had founded in Meer, today Meerbusch and other properties . The monastery and its possessions were subordinate to the provost of the Steinfeld monastery. About 30 dependent farms in the nearby towns belonged to the farm. Their owners appeared at the court court, which was directed by Steinfeld monks. A small settlement called the Mönchhof developed around the Fronhof. Since 1643, the Dünnwald monastery , a Steinfeld priory, had the supervision of the Mönchhof.
