Gut Rosauel is a residential area that belongs to the town of Lohmar in the Rhein-Sieg district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

geography

Gut Rosauel is located in the northwest of Lohmar. Surrounding villages and hamlets are Honrath in the north, Honrath Castle , Naafshäuschen and Windlöck in the northeast, Auel Castle in the east, Schönenberg in the southeast, Wahlscheid in the southeast, south and southwest, Spechtsberg and Scheid in the southwest, Höhnchen and Schiefelbusch in the west and Weilerhohn , Stumpf and birch trees in the northwest.

The Steffensbach, an orographically right tributary of the Agger, has its source to the northwest of Rosauel . The Birkenbach, a left tributary of the Steffensbach, flows north-east and south-east of Rosauel.

In 1885 Gut Rosauel had twelve residents who lived in a single house.

Until 1969, Gut Rosauel belonged to the previously independent municipality of Wahlscheid .

Gut Rosauel is currently being modernized. There are 4 residential units and a studio building. The planned completion is 2017.

Johann Gregor Breuer (1821–1897) spent several years of his childhood at Gut Rosauel. He is the founder of the first journeyman's association in Elberfeld (1846) and a pioneer of the Kolping Society
