history

The "Kirchscheider Hof" was first mentioned in a document dated between 1065 and 1075. The farm with the associated lands belonged to Siegburg Abbey , in 1116 it was called "Scheida" and in 1276 "Schyda". In the period between 1116 and 1166, the Siegburg Abbey built a chapel near the courtyard, which was dedicated to St. Jacob . In the course of time the place name changed to Kirchscheid. After the secularization of Siegburg Abbey (1803), the Kirchscheider Hof came into private ownership around 1820.

In 1885 10 people lived in the Kirchscheid farm.

Until 1969, Kirchscheid belonged to the previously independent community Scheiderhöhe .
