Oberscheid is a hamlet that belongs to the town of Lohmar in the Rhein-Sieg district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Oberscheid is located in the northwest of Lohmar. Surrounding towns are Neuenhof , Spechtsberg and Scheid in the north, Wahlscheid in the northeast, east and southeast, Schiffarth in the east, Brückerhof and Hitzhof in the southeast, Scheiderhöhe , Schöpcherhof and Hagerhof in the south and Muchensiefen and Gammersbacher Mühle in the west to southwest.

A nameless orographically left tributary of the Gammersbach rises west of Oberscheid. The Oberscheider Bach rises east of Oberscheid and flows into the Agger on the right .

history

In 1885 Oberscheid had 48 residents who lived in nine houses.

Until 1969, Oberscheid belonged to the previously independent community Scheiderhöhe .

Worth seeing

In Oberscheid there is a votive cross made of sandstone from 1844. The inscription reads: “Come to me, all of you who are laborious and burdened, I want to refresh you. Erected by the married couple Sybille Manns geb. Müller 1844 ".
