Algert is a district of Lohmar in the Rhein-Sieg district in North Rhine-Westphalia .
geography
Algert is located in the southern urban area. Surrounding towns and hamlets are Gebermühle in the north, Fischburg in the northeast, Bich , Birkhof and Inger in the east, Birk , Albach and Heide in the southeast, Krölenbroich in the south and Lohmarhohn in the southwest.
The Pferdsbach, an orographically right tributary of the Auelsbach, has its source in Algert . The Jabach runs north of Algert .
history
First documented mention of Algert in 1395 in the records of the Birker Marienbruderschaft.
In 1851 there are 147 inhabitants in Algert. In 1872 only 97 people in 22 houses.
Until August 1, 1969, the place belonged to the previously independent municipality Inger .
In 1995 there were 309 inhabitants in Algert.
Architectural monuments
At the entrance to the village from the direction of Inger is the " Arma-Christi-Kreuz ". The richly decorated floor cross was created between 1790 and 1800 and was listed as a historical monument in 1983.
