Yacht club
A yacht club (also a yacht club or yacht club) is a sports club that specializes in sailing or motor boating . Most yacht clubs have their own port or are based in a larger port. Smaller clubs sometimes only have a meadow on land on which, for example, dinghies are parked that are let into the water via a slipway . Yacht clubs often have a long tradition. They usually have an abbreviation for their name (like KYC for the Kieler Yacht Club) and their own stand . Yacht clubs also organize regattas and other sporting or social events. Most of the German yacht clubs are part of the German Sailing Association or the German Motor Yacht Association .
Clubs with the same water sports goals are also referred to as sailing clubs, sailing clubs or water sports clubs.
The Water Club of Cork is commonly traded as the first yacht club . It was founded in Cork , Ireland in 1720 and renamed the Royal Yacht Club in 1820 . In 1833 it got its current name Royal Cork Yacht Club .
