mode
In contrast to the previous season, only a double instead of a triple round trip was played in this one. This was followed by the division of the field of participants into two groups: The first four were placed in district A, the other five in district B.
After this qualifying round, the first two teams in District A qualified for the semi-finals, while the other two met the first two teams in District B in the quarter-finals. All play-off games including the semi-finals and finals were played in best-of-five mode.
The number of transfer card players allowed had also changed this season: each club was allowed to sign nine, but only use seven in one game. Players under the age of 23 were also allowed to be used by the farm team in the A1 and A2 series. Players over 23 years of age, however, were not allowed to be brought back after a change.
First phase
First round
The first round was played from October 3, 2006 to December 2, 2006 on 16 match days.
