The Silnice I / 38 ( Czech for: "1st class road 38") is a Czech state road (1st class road).
course
The road begins in Jestřebí u České Lípy (Habstein) on Silnice I / 9 and leads via Doksy and Bělá pod Bezdězem (Weißwasser) to the Dálnice 10 motorway ( European route 65 ) near Mladá Boleslav (Jungbunzlau), whose route it runs between the junctions (exit) 46 and 39 share it. Next it runs in a south-southeast direction to Nymburk (Nimburg) and Poděbrady (Podiebrad) over and crosses the highway D11 motorway ( European route E67 ) at the junction (exit) 39. You now assumes a southern direction and take immediately before Kolín the Silnice I / 12 up, bypasses Kolin and passes the city of Kutná Hora (Kuttenberg) in its north; here it crosses the Silnice I / 2 . It leads east past Čáslav (Tschaslau), where the Silnice I / 17 branches off, passes Golčův Jeníkov (Goltsch-Jenikau) and Habry (Habern) and crosses the Sazawa river in Havlíčkův Brod (Deutsch Brod) . Here it crosses the Silnice I / 34 . Before the city Jihlava (Iglau) it crosses at the connection point (exit) 112, the highway D1 motorway ( Europastraße 50 ) and forms in its further course, the European route 59 , is west guided around Jihlava, crosses at Markvartice (Markwart village) the Silnice I / 23 , then bypasses Moravské Budejovice (Moravian Budwitz) and finally reaches Znojmo (Znaim), where in the convent LOUKA the Silnice I / 53 in the direction Brno branches (Brno). After a further 12 kilometers, Silnice I / 38 reaches the Czech-Austrian border before Kleinhaugsdorf , where it turns into Weinviertler Straße B303.
The length of the road is almost 256 kilometers.
history
From 1940 to 1945 the road between Bělá pod Bezdězem (Weißwasser) and Mladá Boleslav (Jungbunzlau) formed part of Reichsstrasse 177 and from there to the present-day Austrian border part of Reichsstrasse 96 .
