Sirajganj ( Bengali : সিরাজগঞ্জ) is a district in Rajshahi . In the capital of the district forms the city of the same name Sirajganj . The total area of ​​the district is 2402.1 km². The district is made up of 9 Upazilas .

Sirajganj is considered the gateway to the north of Bengal. The area is bordered by Bogra and Natore to the north, Natore and Pabna to the west, Pabna and Manikganj to the south and Manikganj, Tangail and Jamalpur to the east . The Jamuna flows through the district. The district has 3,097,489 inhabitants (2011 census). The literacy rate is 42.1% of the population. 80% of the population are Muslims , 18.5% are Hindus and 1.5% are Christians , Buddhists or others.

The climate is tropical and warm all year round. The district's average annual temperature varies from a maximum of 34.2 degrees Celsius to a minimum of 8.4 degrees. The annual rainfall is 1736 mm (2011) and the humidity is high all year round.

The economy of the district is dominated by agriculture . The textile industry and food processing are also important. According to the 2011 census, 51.2% of the workforce works in agriculture, 25.3% in the service sector (mostly informal) and 23.5% in industry .
