Ternay is a French village with 184 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vienne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Châtellerault and the canton of Loudun (until 2015 Les Trois-Moutiers ). The inhabitants are called Ternéens .

Ternay is located about 60 kilometers north-northwest of Poitiers on the Canal de la Dive . Neighboring municipalities of Ternay are Berrie in the north, Les Trois-Moutiers in the east and northeast, Curçay-sur-Dive in the south, Saint-Martin-de-Mâcon in the west and southwest and Tourtenay in the west and northwest.
