history
Until the church is planted
The first documentary mention comes from the year 1339, when a dispute between the pastors of Hüttenkofen and Kirchberg over the parish membership of Wörth was decided by the Regensburg cathedral chapter in favor of Hüttenkofen. However, the place is undoubtedly older, as its location on the Roman trunk road from Augsburg towards the Danube , the so-called Isar Valley Road , indicates. This was created around 50 AD under Emperor Claudius . For the 13th century possessions of the Reichsstifts Niedermünster in Wörth are documented. Later the Regensburg Cathedral Chapter and the Niederviehbach Monastery were important landowners. The abbess's staff in the municipal coat of arms still indicates the connection to the monastery of the Augustinian Hermits in Niederviehbach . For a long time Wörth was a small village with the seat of an executive committee that belonged to the Ergolding office , the Rottenburg regional court and the Landshut rent office . Around 1752 Wörth only had 30 properties.
In the course of secularization in 1803, the extensive possessions of the Niederviehbach monastery were dissolved. In the course of the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria , today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .
19th and 20th centuries
With the opening of the Landshut – Plattling railway line in 1880, to which Wörth was connected with its own train station , an upswing in the town that continues to this day began. In connection with the regulation of the Isar in the 20th century, the previously swampy area around Wörth was won as building land . The Federal Motorway 92 , which opened around 1980 and only runs around a kilometer past the town center, continues to contribute to the economic development of the community with the settlement of new companies.
