Waldkircher Orgelbau Jäger & Brommer , based in Waldkirch im Breisgau, is a German organ building workshop .
history
The company was founded in 1988 by master organ builders Wolfgang Brommer, the son of teacher and art historian Hermann Brommer , and Heinz Jäger. The company sees itself in the continuation of the tradition of organ building in Waldkirch, which was founded in 1799 by Matthias Martin and enjoyed a worldwide reputation from the beginning of the 19th century to the 1920s.
As Opus 1, Jäger & Brommer built a new organ for the pilgrimage church " Berghauser Kapelle " near Ehaben . Further work in southern Germany followed. The first restoration work was also carried out on flute clocks and mechanical musical instruments . The quality of the restorations is recognized by museums. The Waldkirch organ builders are also internationally active, their instruments can be found in Europe, USA, Japan, Korea and China.
Jäger & Brommer developed the ÖK organ concept for smaller parishes and smaller rooms , an economical modular system in the form of a positive , which contains a single-manual basic module that can be expanded with the modules pedal extension and accompanying manual as well as an Oberwerk manual . Alternatively, a spinet or digital piano can be installed instead of the second manual .
Jäger & Brommer are co-founders of the Waldkircher Organ Foundation and the Sulzmann Archive, the document collection of the preservationist and organ expert for church organs of the Baden-Württemberg State Monuments Office, Bernd Sulzmann (1940–1999).
In 2007 the "Master Workshop for Organ Builders Jäger & Brommer" was the first craft business to be awarded the " German Foreign Trade Prize". Further awards in 2007 were the “ Grand Prize for Medium-Sized Companies ”. In 2009 the company was awarded the “Bildungsoscar” in recognition of outstanding achievements in the field of training and for special training successes. Also in 2009 the company was awarded a Member of Excellence of German Musicinstruments Certification eV . 2013 “Craft Company of the Year”.
Jäger & Brommer has been the publisher of the Waldkircher Orgel-Zeitung since 1996 , which appears at the three-year international Waldkirch Organ Festival.
