Career

Billy Burch is often referred to as one of the first Americans to establish himself as a player in the NHL. Billy moved to Toronto at a young age and learned to play ice hockey there. He played football with Lionel Conacher and won the Ontario Union Champion title. As a youngster, he also won the Canadian junior title in ice hockey and played here again with Lionel Conacher and Roy Worters, who are also both in the Hockey Hall of Fame . He had his strongest time with the Hamilton Tigers , but that it was also his most successful was prevented by a strike by the team in the 1924/25 season , in which the Tigers did not make the NHL final and Billy had a good chance at his only one Stanley Cup passed.

In 1974 he was honored with the induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame .
