General
The possibility already with the Yamaha YZF-R 125 with 16 years with the driver's license of the class A1 a Yamaha of the R-series to capitalize on Europe's roads, making the bike especially in young people very popular. In 2012, the YZF-R 125 took second place in the list of new registrations for light motorcycles with 1,414 units. The YZF-R 125 is one of the most powerful super athletes from the 125cc class.
It is largely produced by the Yamaha subsidiary MBK in France. The design and the chassis geometry are similar to the Yamaha YZF-R 6 . Like its big sister, the YZF-R 125 has a steel delta box frame and an aluminum swing arm .
ABS has been available for the YZF-R 125 since model year 2015 and will be standard equipment from model year 2017.
The relatively short oil change intervals of 3000 km compared to the competition and the resulting higher maintenance costs are offset by a comparatively high resale value.
The first tire Michelin Pilot Sporty is criticized by the trade press because the tire offers little grip, especially in wet conditions, and therefore does not offer unproblematic driving behavior, especially for novice drivers. Yamaha emphasizes the high durability of the tire. The Pilot Sporty is comparatively cheap to products from competitors such as Bridgestone or Pirelli .
