The 1. HNL 2013/14 was the 23rd season of the highest Croatian football league . The season started on July 12, 2013 and ended on May 17, 2014.
Due to a switch from 12 to 10 clubs, three teams had to relegate to the 2nd HNL at the end of the preseason , and only the champion of the current season of the second division, NK Hrvatski dragovoljac , was allowed to climb.
