geography
Avoine is on the south bank of the Loire , into which the Indre flows. Avoine is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Chapelle-sur-Loire in the north and northeast, Huismes in the east, Beaumont-en-Véron in the south, Savigny-en-Véron in the west and south-west and Chouzé-sur-Loire in the north-west.
The Chinon nuclear power plant is located in the municipality .
