The Citroen e-Méhari is an electrically driven open leisure car with plastic - the body of Citroen . The name is reminiscent of the 1968 introduced Citroën Méhari with a similar concept. Like this, the e-Méhari is simply equipped and has a light tarpaulin cover, which not least saves weight and increases the range. The unpainted, colored body is thermoformed from plastic. The press also calls this recreational vehicle a "buggy".
The vehicle is based on the idea of the Citroën Cactus M concept vehicle presented at the 2015 IAA . Unlike this, the e-Méhari has permanently mounted roll bars. The technical basis is the Bolloré Bluesummer , the appearance and the interior design are based on the Citroën C4 Cactus . The model was built by Bolloré from 2016 to 2019 . Since the market launch in France , it has gradually been exported to other European countries.
The capacity of the lithium polymer accumulator battery of the e-Méhari is given as 30 kWh. It should be sufficient for a range of up to 200 km in urban areas and 100 km on country roads. A full charge takes around 13 hours at a 230-volt socket at 8/10 amps or 8 hours at a 230-volt socket or public charging station (mode 3 charging) at 14 amps. The onboard charger has a maximum charging power of 3.3 kW. There is no quick charge option. The vehicle has a type 2 charging plug ("Mennekes" plug), which is only operated in one phase, but this should not be a problem due to the very manageable charging power (3.3 kW) of the onboard charger. The motor provides 50 kW for a short time and 35 kW continuously. This enables a top speed of around 110 km / h.
The list price in Germany was € 24,790 and did not include the battery, which had to be rented for € 87 a month.
