history

The place name probably goes back to the Burgundian personal name Thragila or Drogila and means with the suffix -ens as much as with the people of Thragila. Draillant was the site of a Cluniac priory that was dependent on Geneva before the Reformation .

In 1974 Draillant was merged with the neighboring Perrignier. At the end of 2000, however, it was raised again to an independent municipality.
