Fessy is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes .
geography
Fessy is located at 584 m , twelve kilometers southwest of the town of Thonon-les-Bains (as the crow flies). The village extends in Bas-Chablais, in a slightly elevated position at the northern foot of the Pre-Alps in the area of the Col de Cou pass.
The area of the 8.53 km² municipal area includes a section of Bas-Chablais and the adjoining Prealps. The northern part of the municipal area lies in a wide lowland, which is drained by the Foron and its tributaries to the north to Lake Geneva . The area extends into the vast forests of the Bois de Savigny . To the south, the municipality extends over an initially gentle, later steep slope (headwaters of the Ruisseau de la Gorge) to the wooded ridges of Tête du Char west of the Col de Cou (Cervens) . The highest point of Fessy is reached here at 1290 m .
Fessy includes the hamlets of Rézier ( 610 m ) and Avugnens ( 624 m ) at the northern foot of the Tête du Char and Les Ruppes ( 800 m ) on its northwest slope . Neighboring communities of Fessy are Lully in the north, Cervens in the east, Habère-Lullin , Burdignin and Saxel in the south and Brenthonne and Bons-en-Chablais in the west.

The choir of the previous building from the 15th century is integrated into today's village church.

With 923 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) Fessy is one of the smaller communities in the Haute-Savoie department. In the last few decades there has been a continuous strong growth in the number of inhabitants. Several single-family houses were built around the old village center.
Economy and Infrastructure
Fessy was a predominantly agricultural village until well into the 20th century . Today there are various local small businesses. Many workers are commuters who work in the larger towns in the area or in Thonon-les-Bains.
The village is close to the D903 connecting road from Saint-Cergues directly to Thonon-les-Bains. Further road connections exist with Brenthonne, Cervens and the Col de Cou.
