Vinzier is a French commune in the department of Haute-Savoie in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes .
geography
Vinzier is located at 918 m , eleven kilometers east-southeast of the city of Thonon-les-Bains (as the crow flies). The village extends in Chablais , in a panoramic position on the high plateau of the Pays de Gavot south of Lake Geneva , high above the valley of the Dranse d'Abondance, in the Savoy Prealps .
The area of the 6.22 km² large municipal area covers a section of the high plateau in central Chablais. The plateau, on average at 900 m , only descends slowly towards the north. This part is drained from the Maravant brook to the Dranse. To the south the plateau drops steeply to the deeply cut valley of the Dranse d'Abondance, which forms the southern border. In the east, the border runs along the Ugine , a right side stream of the Dranse d'Abondance that is also clearly deepened into the surroundings. The highest point of Vinzier is reached with 920 m at the height east of the village.
Community structure
In addition to the actual village center, Vinzier includes various hamlet settlements, namely:

The village is located away from the major thoroughfares on a road connecting Évian-les-Bains to the Vallée d'Abondance. Further road connections exist with Féternes and Larringes.
