Chevenoz is a French commune in the department of Haute-Savoie in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes .
geography
Chevenoz is located at 807 m , 13 kilometers east-southeast of the city of Thonon-les-Bains (as the crow flies). The village extends in Chablais , on a flat area on the sunny northern valley slope of the Dranse d'Abondance , in the northern Savoy Alps .
The area of the 10.54 km² municipal area includes a section of the Vallée d'Abondance. The valley is oriented from east to west in the area of Chevenoz. It is bounded in the north by the height of the Tête des Trêches ( 1420 m ). To the south, the municipality extends to the peaks of the Pointe de l'Aiguille ( 1502 m ) and the Pointes de Tréchauffex (at 1636 m, the highest elevation of Chevenoz).
Chevenoz includes the hamlets of Le Plan de Chevenoz ( 792 m ), Le Crêt ( 880 m ) and Arce ( 800 m ) on the northern slope of the valley, as well as Le Fion ( 805 m ) and Plainesserve ( 800 m ) on a terrace on the southern slope of the Dranse d'Abondance. Neighboring municipalities of Chevenoz are Bernex in the north, Vacheresse in the east, La Baume and La Forclaz in the south and Vinzier in the west.

With 607 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) Chevenoz is one of the small communities in the Haute-Savoie department. In the last few decades, thanks to the beautiful residential area, there has been a continuous growth in the number of residents. Numerous single-family houses were built outside the old village center.
Economy and Infrastructure
Until well into the 20th century, Chevenoz was a predominantly agricultural village. Today there are various local small businesses; The wood processing industry is also of importance. Many workers are commuters who go to work in the larger towns in the area, especially in Thonon-les-Bains.
The village is located away from the major thoroughfares on a road connecting Évian-les-Bains to the Vallée d'Abondance.
