The three-cushion world championship for national teams in 1990 was the fourth edition of this tournament, which has been held annually since 1981 in the three- cushion version of billiards . It took place from May 31 to June 3, 1990 in Viersen , which hosted the World Cup for the first time and is still today.
Game mode
12 teams took part in the tournament. Each team consisted of two players. The game was played in 4 groups. In the groups, each player played against both opponents. The four group winners reached the semifinals.
The whole tournament was played with 2 winning sets. The final was extremely exciting. After both rounds the score was 2: 2 after wins and 6: 6 sets. In the end, Japan won because, according to the points scored, it worked out in their favor with 151: 148. There was also a game for 3rd place. Germany 2 won against Spain with 12-0 sets and the best tournament average of 1.290.
