The three-cushion world championship for national teams in 2001 was the 15th edition of this tournament, which has been held annually since 1981 in the three- cushion billiard variant . It took place from March 8th to 11th, 2001 in Viersen .
Tournament commentary
Denmark A won the game for third place against the Netherlands. Sweden became team world champions for the fourth time and won all games. All team tournament records went to the Netherlands. Peru made it into the quarter-finals for the second time after 2000, but failed there against Germany, as in the previous year against Denmark. They were the third team from South America so far to make it into the finals at this World Cup, after Argentina and Colombia.
Game mode
24 teams took part in the tournament. Each team consisted of two players. The game was played in eight groups of three from A to H. The eight group winners made it to the quarter-finals.
