The Fortuna liga 2017/18 was the 31st season of the top division in Slovak football and the 25th season since 1993. The season began on July 22, 2017 and ended on May 19, 2018. The defending champion was MŠK Žilina . New in the league was promoted FC Nitra .

In the first round of the season, the 12 clubs played for the placements, the result of which in the second half of the season formed the basis for a division of the teams into two groups of six teams each. The six best-placed clubs reached the championship round, the teams in positions seven to twelve played against relegation. The number of points achieved in the 22 preliminary round games was transferred to the individual groups.
