Glass Onion ( English Glass Onion ) is a song by The Beatles from 1968. It appeared on the White Album . Text and composition are by John Lennon alone , even if the piece has been ascribed to Lennon / McCartney for copyright reasons .

Emergence

Lennon wrote the song as a reaction to the many attempts to interpret the sometimes ambiguous texts of the Beatles, whereby misinterpretations were not uncommon. John Lennon had already tried to confuse the audience with texts that were as cryptic as possible , which he succeeded in particular with the song I Am the Walrus . In Glass Onion some characters and metaphors from other Beatles pieces mentioned, such as I Am the Walrus , Fixing a Hole , The Fool on the Hill and Lady Madonna .
