history

The Hammerbach (now also known as Welkenbach) was first mentioned in a document in 1069. In the document it was confirmed that Heinrich IV. Donated the bishopric Bamberg a game ban, the border of which is marked among other things by the Hammerbach. In 1347, the place itself was mentioned in a document in which the priest Heinrich Varnpekke presented the Nuremberg St. Catherine's Monastery with a property for the anniversary foundation . The original lord of Hammerbach was the bishopric of Bamberg. Landlord at that time the Lords of Maienthal, which all goods of the creek belonged west, 1422 finally all goods were east of the creek. As early as 1428 the lords of Maienthal were forced to sell their landed claims. The property fell mainly to the Nuremberg patricians , mainly to the Rieter von Kornburg . When they died out in 1753, their originally Bamberg possessions fell back to the Bamberg Monastery. In addition, the Nuremberg Heilig-Geist-Spital owned ten shares in the village, which were acquired by Konrad Groß , the founder of the hospital.

At the end of the 18th century there were 26 properties in Hammerbach. The high court was divided. To the left of the Welkenbach she exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth Fraischvogteiamt Emskirchen-Hagenbüchach , to the right of the brook the Bamberg Centamt Herzogenaurach . The landlords were the bishopric of Bamberg (office Herzogenaurach: 6 half courtyards, 1 quarter courtyard, 2 drip houses ), Brandenburg-Bayreuth ( monastery office Frauenaurach : 1 half courtyard, 1 Gütlein; monastery office Münchaurach : 4 quarter courtyards, 3 drip houses), the imperial city of Nuremberg ( hospital office : 2 half courtyards , 2 estates; Landesalmosenamt: 1 estate), the Nuremberg owner von Kreß (1 estate) and the council Herzogenaurach (1 quarter yard). The shepherd's house was subordinate to the community. The village and township government was ganerblich exercised in rotation by the landlords.

In 1810 Hammerbach came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict , the Hammerbach tax district was formed in 1811 , to which Beutelsdorf , Mittelmembach , Nankendorf , Obermembach , Reinersdorf , Reuth and Welkenbach belonged. Sintmann and Mitteldorf were given to the tax district Weisendorf as early as 1813 .

With the second community edict (1818), the places were assigned to the following newly formed rural communities :

  • Rural community Hammerbach with Nankendorf and Welkenbach
  • Rural community Reinersdorf with Neuenbürg and Reuth
  • Beutelsdorf to the rural community Haundorf
  • Mittel- and Obermembach to the rural community of Heßdorf .

The administration and jurisdiction of the municipality Hammerbach was subordinate to the regional court of Herzogenaurach and the financial administration to the Erlangen rent office . On January 16, 1825, Reuth was reassigned to Hammerbach, and on October 1, 1847, financial management was taken over by the Herzogenaurach Rent Office . From 1862 Hammerbach was administered by the district office of Höchstadt an der Aisch (renamed the district of Höchstadt an der Aisch in 1938 ) and continued to be administered by the Rent Office Herzogenaurach (1920–1929: Finanzamt Herzogenaurach , from 1929: Finanzamt Erlangen ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Herzogenaurach until 1879, 1880–1959 district court of Herzogenaurach , from 1959 district court of Erlangen . Until 1950 the municipality had an area of 8,800 km². 1956 Reuth was incorporated into Weisendorf. This reduced the area area to 7.625 km².

In 1890/91 the St. Elisabeth chapel was built in the village, which was financed by donations from the villagers. In 1912 the place received a school house that has been used as a kindergarten since 1993.

On January 1, 1972, Hammerbach was dissolved as part of the regional reform: Hammerbach and Welkenbach were incorporated into the municipality of Herzogenaurach , while Nankendorf was incorporated into Weisendorf.
