I'll Be Back ( English something like: I'll be back ) is a song by British band The Beatles , in 1964 on their third album A Hard Day's Night was released. It was composed by John Lennon and Paul McCartney and published under the author's name Lennon / McCartney .

I'll Be Back is mainly based on the musical ideas of John Lennon.

Musically, the Del Shannon song was particularly influenced by the song Runaway .

I'll Be Back was not included in the group's live repertoire in 1964.

I'll Be Back was recorded on June 1, 1964 between 7 and 10 p.m. in London's Abbey Road Studios (Studio 2) with producer George Martin . Norman Smith was the sound engineer for the recordings. The band recorded a total of 16 takes , with the 16th take also being used for the final version. At the beginning of the recording (Take 2) the Beatles try to play the song in a waltz rhythm , after that I'll Be Back was recorded in a 4/4 rhythm.

On June 1, 1964, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., the Beatles recorded three more songs: Matchbox , I'll Cry Instead, and Slow Down .

The song was mixed on June 22, 1964 in mono and on March 10, 1964 in stereo . On June 22, 1964, a special mono mix was also made for the USA.

In the USA I'll Be Back was released on December 15, 1964 on the seventh album Beatles '65 there .

On July 9, 1964, the fourth Beatles album A Hard Day's Night was released in Germany , here it was titled: Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! A Hard Day's Night that includes I'll Be Back . In Great Britain the album was released on July 10, 1964, there it was the third Beatles album.

On November 20, 1995, the compilation album Anthology 1 was released, which includes two earlier versions, Take 2 and 3, of the song I'll Be Back .
