NGC 4353 = IC 3266 is an irregular dwarf galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type IBm in the constellation Virgo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 47 million light years from the Milky Way and about 10,000 light years in diameter. It is listed as a member of the Virgo galaxy cluster under catalog number VCC 688 .
The galaxies NGC 4334 , NGC 4366 , NGC 4370 , IC 3271 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered in 1881 by Christian Heinrich Friedrich Peters .
