Molise (wine)

With the designation Molise DOC or del Molise DOC , Italian red, rosé and white wines as well as sparkling wines are developed in the provinces of Campobasso and Isernia ( Molise region ). The wines have had a "controlled designation of origin " ( Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC) since 1998 , which was last updated on March 7, 2014.

  • Two sparkling wines are produced as cuvées :
    • Molise or del Molise Bianco Spumante : at least 50% of the following grape varieties must be Chardonnay and / or Pinot bianco and / or Pinot Grigio and / or Moscato and / or Falanghina and / or Montepulciano (white) and / or Fiano and / or Malvasia . Wines with the predicate "Riserva" must have matured for at least two years, of which at least six months in wooden barrels.
