The 2007/08 season began on August 3, 2007 with the game between the Tecos de la UAG and the Club de Fútbol Pachuca. It ended with 1: 4 from the point of view of the home team and was thus one of the eleven highest away wins of the entire season; because no away team managed a victory by more than three goals difference. Away teams have won seven times with 3-0 and three times with 4-1. The highest-scoring away win result was Santos Laguna's 5-2 win on October 27, 2007 at CF Atlas.

The highest victories of the season were the 8-0 victory of Pumas UNAM against Tiburones Rojos de Veracruz in Apertura (November 4, 2007) and Club Deportivo Guadalajara's 6-0 victory over CA Monarcas Morelia (February 2, 2008) in Clausura ). The Apertura game with the highest goals was on November 10, 2007, the last day of the preliminary round, between Guadalajara and the Jaguares (5: 4), the Clausura game with the highest goals on April 5, 2008 between Monterrey and Veracruz (7: 2). The last match day of the league round took place on May 4, 2009, the final game of the season was on June 1, 2008, the final second leg for the Clausura 2008 between Santos Laguna and Cruz Azul (1: 1).

The 2007 Apertura champion was the CF Atlante, who finished sixth in the season's overall table. The 2008 Clausura champion was Santos Laguna, the team with the highest points of the season.

There were a total of 306 point games and 28 games in the Liguilla , the Spanish name for the play-offs , so a total of 334 games for the two championships.

In the regular round of points, each team had to play 34 games, 17 each in the Apertura and the Clausura. Theoretically, up to 46 games were possible for a team if they had reached the finals in both the Apertura and the Clausura. However, such a constellation did not occur in the 2008/09 season. Most of the games (44) were played by the Santos Laguna team, which advanced to the semi-finals in the 2007 Apertura and won the 2008 Clausura.

Querétaro FC , relegated in the previous year , was replaced by promoted Puebla FC. At the end of the 2007/08 season, the CD Veracruz rose from the Primera División and was replaced in the 2008/09 season by the promoted Club de Fútbol Indios .

The point game round

In the regular season (which did not take into account the Liguilla ), the 2-1 result was the most common result. It occurred a total of 50 times and was also the most common away win result (24 times). This is followed by the 1: 1, which has been scored 45 times, before the 1: 0, which has occurred 43 times and is the most common home win result (28 times).

In the total of 306 point games, 864 goals were scored, which corresponds to an average of 2.82. 508 goals (average 1.66) were scored by the home teams and 356 goals (average 1.16) by the away teams.

    1. The matches between Atlante and Morelia were reported twice as Atlante's home game at RSSSF, but the first leg (1: 1) took place in Morelia, which is taken into account in this article. Furthermore, the meeting between America and Veracruz, which ended goalless, is missing at RSSSF.
