Romain is a French commune with 315 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Marne department in the Grand Est region (before 2016 Champagne-Ardenne ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Reims and the canton of Fismes-Montagne de Reims (until 2015 the canton of Fismes ).

Romain is located about 26 kilometers west-northwest of the city center of Reims on Vesle , which borders the municipality in the south. Romain is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Muscourt and Meurival in the north, Ventelay in the east and northeast, Montigny-sur-Vesle in the east and southeast, Breuil-sur-Vesle in the south, Courlandon in the west and southwest, Baslieux-lès-Fismes in the west as well Les Septvallons in the northwest.
