The 1st Lig 1968/69 was the eleventh season of the highest Turkish league in men's football . It began on September 14, 1968 and ended on May 25, 1969.

Turkish football champion was Galatasaray Istanbul . It was the third championship of this club. Newcomers from the 2nd division were İstanbulspor and Izmirspor. Istanbulspor played a solid season, finishing eighth. Izmirspor had to go back to the second division after just one season.

The biggest surprise of the season was Eskişehirspor as the first runner-up who was not from Istanbul . The club thus qualified for the Balkan Cup.
