Sean Connery / filmography
Sean Connery's filmography names the films in which the Scottish film actor Sean Connery has starred. In his over 60-year acting career, he has appeared in over 90 films, as well as in isolated television series and documentaries.
Connery made his film debut in 1954 in Lilacs in the Spring , a musical film by Herbert Wilcox . After starring in various British films from the late 1950s, he succeeded in 1962 with James Bond - 007 chasing Dr. No the international breakthrough. He played the role of secret agent James Bond , by far his best-known, seven times. In the 1970s he developed into a character actor , but he did not receive artistic recognition for this until the mid-1980s. For the role of the Franciscan William von Baskerville in the film The Name of the Rose (1986) he received the BAFTA Award for best actor, for the impersonation of Jim Malone in The Untouchables (1987) the Oscar and the Golden Globe Award for best supporting actor. For his life's work he received another Golden Globe in 1996, the BAFTA Prize in 1998 and the European Film Prize in 2005 . He made his last film in 2003, since then he has limited himself to tasks as a voice actor.
