Tour de France 2019 / mountain ratings
In the Tour de France 2019 , a total of 65 mountain classifications should be mastered. Due to adverse weather conditions, three mountain classifications were not driven, so that the field of drivers had to cope with 62 mountain classifications.
Of the 62 mountain ratings, 14 were in category 4, 21 in the third category, 11 in category 2, 11 in the first category and 5 climbs were assigned to the Hors Catégorie (HC). The division into categories was interesting for the evaluation of the dotted jersey . For example, the winner of a mountain classification in the fourth category was awarded one point, and the winner of mountains in categories 3 and 2 was awarded two and five points, respectively. The first received ten points on a mountain in the first category, while hors-catégorie climbs earned the winner 20 points in the mountain classification. On the Col du Tourmalet ( 14th stage ), on the Col d'Izoard ( 18th stage ), on the Col du Galibier ( 18th stage ), on the Col de l'Iseran ( 19th stage ) and on the Val Thorens ( 20th stage ) the points were doubled.
On average, the 62 categorized climbs of the 106th Tour de France were around 5.94 kilometers long. The longest climb was the one to Val Thorens (33.4 kilometers), while the only 0.9 kilometer long classification on the Côte d'Hautvillers , Côte de Mutigny and Côte de Châteaufort was the shortest of its kind. The steepest average ascent was the 0.9 kilometer drive to the Côte de Mutigny , the flattest was the ascent to the Côte de Castelnau-de-Montmiral .
On the Col de l'Iseran was Souvenir Henri Desgrange awarded on the Col du Tourmalet , the Souvenir Jacques Goddet .
