Wade is a town in Aroostook County in the state of Maine in the United States . In 2010 there were 283 inhabitants in 129 households on an area of 94.2 km². Wade does not have its own administration, this is done from nearby Washburn .

Geographical location
Wade is located in the northeastern part of Aroostook County. The Aroostook River flows through the southern local area, it has several smaller tributaries in the area of the town. There are no lakes in Wade. The surface of Wade is rather flat, there are no higher elevations in the area of the town.

history
Wade was settled in 1846 and the area was initially referred to as the Township T13 R4 WELS. In 1861 Wade was organized as a plantation so that the residents of Wade could vote. In 1874 the place was permanently recognized as a plantation, on March 4, 1913 it was given town status. The place was at times known as Garden Creek Plantation and Dunntown, Wade .
