Blaine is a town in Aroostook County in the state of Maine in the United States . In 2010, 726 people lived there in 360 households on an area of 48.0 km².

According to the United States Census Bureau , Blaine has a total area of 48.30 km², of which 48.17 km² is land and 0.13 km² consists of water .
Geographical location
Blaine is located in eastern Aroostook County near the Canadian border. It is the southern part of the twin cities of Mars Hill-Blaine. The Oromocto River runs centrally through the town in a south-easterly direction. It flows into the Saint John River . The surface of the town is flat, without any major elevations. There are only smaller lakes in the town area.

Initially, half of the area belonged to the Bridgewater Plantation. When this was elevated to town in 1858, Blaine founded Range One as a plantation , initially under the name Letter B. With the establishment of a post office, the name was changed to Alva in 1860 . She was raised on February 10 in 1874 Town and named in honor of James G. Blaine in Blaine changed.

Economy and Infrastructure
traffic
US Highway 1 passes through Blaine and continues north towards Fort Fairfield and Presque Isle and south towards Houlton . Blaine himself had no rail connection, but there was a passenger train station in the neighboring town of Mars Hill . However, the Brownville – Saint-Leonard railway line passing here has been closed. The nearest airport with scheduled flights is in Presque Isle .
Public facilities
Blaine doesn't own a library. The WTA Hansen Memorial Library is located in the northern part of the twin cities of Mars-Hill .
There is no hospital or other medical facility in Blain. The closest hospital for the town's residents is in Presque Isle.
