Due to its small population, Glenwood does not have its own local government, but this is done from nearby Houlton .

Geographical location
Glenwood Plantation is east of Wytopitlock Lake in the southern part of Aroostook County. The Orcutt Brook empties into Wytopitlock Lake after having previously flowed through another larger lake. The surface is flat and there are no significant bumps.

history
Glenwood Plantation was established as an electoral district in 1863. It was founded as a town on February 14, 1867, but lost this status in 1868 and was officially confirmed as a plantation on March 15, 1877. In 1888, Glenwood had 198 residents. Since then the population has decreased continuously.

US Highway 2A runs through Glenwood . A road branches off from it to Wytopitlock Lake . That being said, there are only a few other streets in Glenwood.
Public facilities
Due to the small population, there is no school in Glenwood Plantation. The former school building was used for the Plantation's gatherings for some time, but since 2017 it has been in a state of disrepair.
