Westfield is a town in Aroostook County in the state of Maine in the United States . In 2010, 549 people lived there in 240 households on an area of 104.3 km².

Geographical location
Westfield is located in eastern Aroostook County near the border with Canada . The surface of the town is flat, but there is a group of hills to the west, the highest point of which is the 384 m high Green Mountain . There are no major rivers or lakes in the town area.

history
Today's Westfield was originally awarded as two half-township grants, the Deerfield Academy Grant and the Westfield Academy Grant, and registered as a Plantation in 1861 . The original name for this area was Township No. 10, Second Range West of the Easterly Line of the State (T10 R2 WELS). In 1905 it was recognized as a town. The first European settlers were James Thorncraft and his wife in 1839. The first school house was built in 1863.
A tornado caused severe damage in May 2009.

Buildings
Beecher H. Duncan Farm is located in the area of the town . It was built from 1910 to 1912 and in 2009 under the register no. 09000011 Listed and Registered on the National Register of Historic Places .
Economy and Infrastructure
traffic
The Maine State Route 11 leads north to south through the town and connects Westfield with Presque Isle in the north and the south Houlton. The Brownville – Saint-Leonard railway runs through town and there is a stop in Westfield.
Public facilities
The Mark and Emily Turner Memorial Library is available to residents of Westfield, Presque Isle.
In addition to the Aroostook Medical Center, Presque Isle has other medical wards, not only for residents of the city, but also for those of the neighboring towns such as Westfield.
